Speckled Seatrout
Trout are very aggressive and usually a very willing participant when a lure appears in front of them and can make for an action packed day for anglers of all skill levels on both light tackle and fly.
They prefer areas with seagrass and sandy potholes. During the winter months, December through March is an excellent time to target the larger female "gator trout" which come up on the shallow grass flats and strap on the feed bag in preparation for their spawning.
It is not uncommon during this time of year to catch a dozen or more trout 20"+ in a day.
